We would like to take this opportunity to express our appreciation for the excellent work performed by the ACECO project team at GWU Thurston Hall. ACECO field leadership has great command of the work crew and creates a productive, efficient, and respectful work environment. We encountered several changed conditions and uncovered several unknown obstacles; and through it all, ACECO brought a positive “let’s get this done” attitude. The project had a very demanding schedule and ACECO was always ready for the challenge, and creative and open-minded to finding a better, more productive way to get the work done. ACECO provided an excellent safety culture on the project. And we also want to recognize ACECO for outstanding clean-up throughout the project. Please pass on our appreciation to everyone on the ACECO Team for all of the hard work.
The Alexandria Fire Department’s Technical Rescue Team would like to express our thanks to all involved with making this rare training opportunity available to us. The scenario presented by ACECO was perfect to train our team on how to approach a true building collapse. By using real materials that were bent, twisted, and broken from a real collapse (demolition). This opportunity presented our Rescue Teams with a unique training evolution that placed them on a live site with a situation that they could likely face. Once again, thank you. We look forward to working with your teams in the future.
ACECO understood the tight schedule and extremely tight work areas Kiewit’s team would face on this project. They went above and beyond, sending crews and equipment out for early weekend shutdowns that provided crucial information for Kiewit’s design-build team. When it came time to go to work, ACECO’s crews were always on time, never missed a shift, and transitions from day-shift to night-shift were seamless. ACECO’s Foreman and Superintendents are all extremely knowledgeable about the work and their crews always come prepared. In a time where skilled labor is in high-demand, ACECO was able to staff this project with over 200 skilled laborers, operators, and foreman. ACECO always kept the project moving in the event of equipment breakdowns; extra equipment was kept on standby and mechanics were always available for repairs. We always look forward to partnering with ACECO for any large scale, technical, structural demolition projects as well as any smaller demolition projects.
I have had the pleasure to work with ACECO over the last 10 years in both preconstruction and project delivery. They are one of the most professional demolition contractors in the region and have worked on some of the most complex and sizable demolition projects Clark has been a part of. Their leadership team, as well as field staff are courteous, professional, and collaborative. I would recommend them for any demolition project.
It is extremely important for the success of the project that we work with high quality subcontractors that share our vision of safety, detailed planning, open communication, flexibility and timely execution. ACECO shares this vision and has partnered with DAVIS to successfully execute many of our major structural demolition projects as well as our occupied renovation projects that require a more delicate and surgical approach. ACECO has proven capable of doing both types of demolition. This service has been key in executing our projects on time and on budget. ACECO is a trusted and valuable resource for DAVIS. Not only will ACECO bring the experience necessary for a successful project, they will quickly become one of your project leaders pushing for a safe work environment and coming up with unique approaches to execute your project.
